Say Yes – 7 Rules To Become Happier Today

If you are not already happy about the weekend (yeeey, it’s Saturday after all!), read these seven rules to boost your happiness today!

SAY YES TO:

1. Being imperfect.

You are human. You don’t need to be perfect. Everyone fails and makes mistakes throughout life. This is nothing to be ashamed of. All little ‘flaws’ make you YOU. They make you unique and individual. And then again, someone’s ‘perfect’ may as well be someone else’s ‘imperfect’.

2. Being you.

You are a unique being of light. Life is a miracle. You are a miracle. Embrace it. Embrace what makes you YOU. How boring would it be it everyone behaved the same way with the same thoughts and tastes. No, you are UNIQUE and SPECIAL. Be true to yourself and embrace your personality.

3. The things that make you come alive.

Try to engage in stuff that makes you feel alive as often as possible. Spend time with your friends and family, laugh loud and laugh often. Dance in the rain. Whatever makes you feel happy and alive – do it as much as possible.

4. Optimism.

There will always be bad times in life. It is important how we deal with them. Every failure and each opportunity opens the door to another opportunity. Life can be hard. Just go through these moments with the help of your beloved ones and stay positive. There will be better days to come. There are so many things you should be grateful for. So many things to look forward to.

5. Making someone else happy.

Let’s spread love and good vibes and make this world a better place. If everyone would just be a bit kinder to just one person a day, a never-ending flow of positivity would be set in motion.

6. Turning negative self-talk around.

Sometimes you are your own worst enemy. Don’t search for flaws, don’t find excuses why you might fail. Focus on the good things. On your strengths. Be your own best friend.

7. Forgiveness.

Forgive other people and even more importantly, forgive yourself. We are all just human. We are a non-predictable little group of big kids all just searching for happiness. Sometimes we make mistakes. Just try to see through them and see the people around you for what they are. Miracles of life.

Great list, it’s sad how often people forget about this. It’s so easy to make yourself (and others) feel better, happy, yet people chose to mourn for what they don’t have.

My favorites are number 1 and number 7, and it’s funny because those are the ones I struggle the most with. I feel so imperfect all the time, and I constantly beat myself up for it, leading me to not forgive myself and therefore shame myself even more, but I’m working on it.

Great tips, these! Happiness, I firmly believe, all starts in the mind and how we talk to ourselves. I wholeheartedly agree with everything you’ve said in this post!

So true and even knowing these and telling others these same pointers, I fall into my own trap of being my own worst enemy. I truly need to stop being so negative about myself and live my life.

Yes! I am imperfect and I embrace it. In fact, I take it a step further and call myself weird. Weird people rock.

I start and end my days with positive affirmations and this really sets me up to attract even more positive energy into my life. I tray to avoid negativity as much as possible but it’s quite hard to avoid on social media, especially around friends and famil. Strangers or distant acquaintances tend to stay out of the negative game unless it’s negative self beliefs and then there is the opportunity to help someone out of that cycle… which is positive and makes me happy.

I have recently taken on the Buddhist faith and these are all things I am trying to learn to do for myself. After years of negative self talk, it is difficult to switch it to positive. But following blogs like yours help! 🙂
