http://johnhykel.com/tag/visa-allotment/ The exact definition of ‘organic’ is grown or made without the use of artificial chemicals. We live in a world where our food is processed, our clothes are made with synthetic fabrics and our beauty products have labels filled with ingredients we cannot even pronounce let alone understand.

Tadalafil Oral Strip Luckily, there is still a small organic oasis for all those who wish to return to nature in every sense, skin and hair care included, and that oasis is increasing with every new person who decides to join in. This is why a natural, holistic approach to hair care is gaining momentum, as more and more people are realizing the importance of nurturing from within, so join us on this journey and rediscover natural ways of nourishing your precious locks.

Make your own

Most commercial shampoos strip the scalp of its natural oils. The body, in its infinite wisdom, tries to return to its previous state by producing more oil. This, of course, translates into hair that gets really greasy really fast — a reason why most people feel like they need to wash their hair every day or two.

There are quality organic shampoos out there, but why not go completely natural and try making your own shampoo? All you need is ¼ coconut milk, ¼ liquid Castile soap and 20 drops of essential oil of your choice, I personally am a huge fan of lavender, but you can go with peppermint, rosemary or orange. Pour the ingredients in an empty shampoo bottle and shake, shake, shake!

Bonus tip: since these are all natural ingredients, the bottle requires shaking before every use for them to homogenize again. This recipe has proven not only effective, but also very gentle on the scalp, so if you have a sensitive scalp, like I do, this is the perfect recipe for you.

Healthy from within

The importance of nurturing from within simply cannot be emphasized enough. You truly are what you eat, and believe it or not, your dietary habits reflect on your appearance – skin and hair included. According to WebMD, protein is important to strengthen hair and promote growth. Soy is a great source of protein as well as a great substitute for meat, so try to incorporate it into your nutrition. For those combating hair loss, it would be smart to include nuts, seeds, eggs, and fish in their diets. They are all important sources of omega-3 fatty acids, which help lower inflammation and create a healthier scalp. Drinking green tea is also bound to do wonders for your hair.

As beauty truly comes from within, vitamin intake is highly important and natural vitamins for hair are as important as proper nutrition. The role of vitamins, along with folic acid, is to nourish hair from within and enable its quicker growth. With a combination of regular vitamin intake and healthy eating habits, you will be safely on the express train to gorgeous hair.

Love and devotion

Even the healthiest hair needs love, and that is why hair masks are to be called upon every so often. I thought of purchasing a natural clay mask, but then I went in search of DIY solutions, and found a great recipe on Wellness Mama, so I decided to give it a try.

I decided to go with bentonite clay as it is known as one of the strongest toxin absorbents among clays. It worked like magic; I don’t think I have ever felt such cleanliness before. My roots were impeccably clean, my hair felt stronger and shinier, and now after several months of following this routine, I notice no split ends, my hair stays on my head instead on the brush, and it is safe to say that I will be sticking to this recipe. Also, I full-heartedly recommend it to you all, because what is caring if not sharing.

Let it dry

One of the biggest favors you can do to your hair is save it from heat exposure as much as possible. Comb your hair, and after washing, treat the roots with natural and organic argan oil. The reason I find this oil amazing is because unlike other oils, it doesn’t make the hair greasy.

Simply rub the oil on your hair and work it onto the strands avoiding the roots, brush it and let it dry on its own. Avoid blow-dryers, hair curlers and straighteners. Heat is hair’s nemesis. As far as styling goes, there are amazing tutorials for gorgeous updos and heat-free waves, so why expose your hair to heat when you can achieve stunning styles without it.

A Holistic Approach for Treating Your Hair from the Inside Out

Share:

The modern 9-5 routine leaves all of us exhausted during the workweek, so many people succumb to fast food or unhealthy snacks. Paired with a sedentary lifestyle, bad eating habits lead to a number of diseases and weight issues. We’re all prone to blame it all on our hectic lives, but that’s a pretty lame excuse. Is it possible to stick to a healthy eating regimen if you work long hours? Believe it or not, preparing nutrient-packed meals can be much easier than you think. But first, you need to be determined and willing to change your mindset. Here are a few simple tips & tricks to help you improve your eating habits.

How to eat healthy

The best-laid plans…

No, they don’t always go awry. Sometimes all it takes is making a good plan and sticking to it. If you know that you’re going to have a busy week, plan your meals ahead. Sunday is a perfect day to browse through healthy food recipes and decide on your menu. Wondering what to eat every day after work and being indecisive will result in grabbing a slice of pizza or a burger with fries. You’re probably too tired and fed up at the end of the day, which means that you’re not exactly motivated to put your apron on and magically turn into Donna Hay. Once you come up with your plan, go shopping for the groceries, prepare your meals, and put them in the freezer. This way you’ll be in control of your eating choices (and your money, too). In case you want to dine out on a couple of nights, check out restaurant menus and see what healthy options they offer.

Eat your breakfast alone…

Well, I don’t mean literally. I’m referring to an old, wise Russian proverb that highlights the importance of breakfast by saying that you should eat your breakfast alone, share your lunch with a friend, and give your supper to an enemy. By skipping the morning meal, you fail to provide your body with proper nutrients and your sugar levels soon go crazy. If you want to kick-start your day on a positive note, breakfast is a must. Now you’re probably thinking that you’ll have to get up at the crack of dawn in order to squeeze it into your busy schedule, but you actually don’t need to prepare an elaborate meal.

and fall in love with veggie juices

Smoothies with various berries and green veggies are an excellent option. Throw in some flaxseed, almond butter, or ginger, and you’ve concocted an energy-boosting drink that will keep you full until lunch. A PB&J is another great option if you use whole wheat bread, and in case you have a sweet tooth, a much lighter version of an Elvis sandwich with whole grain waffle, peanut butter, and banana slices will lift your spirits.

How to eat healthy

Eat fat to lose fat

This oxymoron is, actually, one of the most important rules for healthy eating. Healthy fats can do wonders for your health as they’re essential for your immunity and heart disease prevention. When it comes to sculpting your beach body, you’ll be amazed how fats can be efficient. Here’s a list of some foods that contain healthy fats, together with their benefits:

Avocados

Avocados are full of vitamin E, responsible for anti-aging protection, and they also have a lot of protein. Eat this delicious fruit as often as you can as it’s rich in protein. This is important because your body burns more calories when digesting protein than digesting carbs, for example. So, you can lose some fat simply by eating avocados. Amazing, right?

Butter

Butter, although previously stigmatized and accused of causing high cholesterol levels and heart disease, is a source of omega -3 and omega-6 fatty acids, essential for the functioning of your brain, all of which makes it a healthy food. Still, eat it in moderation as it’s high in calories.

Oily Fish

Oily fish is the source of lean protein, and it’s also brimming with omega fatty acids. These types of fish also contain vitamin D and minerals extremely healthy for your teeth. As for dental issues, many people think that it’s enough to brush and floss their teeth on a regular basis. However, some of us have extremely sensitive teeth, and although I have regular dental check- ups, I frequently end up with issues that can only be taken care by an expert endodontist. So, if you want a dazzling smile, stock up on tuna, salmon, or mackerel.

Olive Oil

Extra virgin olive oil is the nature’s magic potion that is beneficial for almost every organ system. Apart from turning your body into a well-oiled machine, it can also help you lose weight.

Drink plenty of water to hydrate

Still waters run deep

Hydration is crucial for the wellbeing of your body. Did you know that you’ve already lost 1% of your total body water when you realize that you’re thirsty? This is especially the case during the summer months when you’re sweating more. On a busy day, it’s hard to remember to take a sip from your H2O bottle, so you can use one of those mobile apps that will remind you to drink a glass of water per hour. Apart from being necessary for proper functioning of your body, hydration will also prevent you from mindless nibbling on candy as it will keep you full.

Prevent snaccidents

I’m sure that you’re familiar with this concept. I know, it happens even to the best of us, but if you’ve decided to kick the habit of accidentally devouring a box of chocolates or a pint of ice cream, then you need to know how to defend yourself from cravings. Snacks are a common vehicle to cheat and eat carbs and sugary foods, especially if we bear in mind that even some allegedly healthy cereal bars are in reality sugar traps. Make sure to read labels carefully and opt only for natural, unprocessed snacks. However, you can also make your own healthy snacks by mixing some nuts, raisins, and cranberries, or cutting carrots and celery into sticks and pairing it with a homemade yogurt dip. This will save you from disrupting your newly established healthy eating routine and frequenting that tempting vending machine in your office.

So, being busy can’t be an excuse for turning to unhealthy foods. These simple tips on how to eat healthy are efficient and can help you curb cravings and stay away from bad food choices.

5 Ways to Eat Healthy With No EffortHow to Eat Healthy With No Effort

Happiness is very simple. Yet in today’s hectic world we often forget take care of ourselves. Instead we are raised to believe that being happy is dependent on external factors like status, wealth, looks and similar standards by which we measure our success and, wrongly, our level of happiness.

Don’t allow other people to define your happiness

If you allow other people or certain events to determine whether you are happy or sad, you restrict yourself to think that happiness is something external to yourself. It’s not. Only YOU ALONE can determine your happiness. It’s solely in your hands what you make of your life and how you choose to live it.

Happiness comes from within YOU

Outside will always be outside. Don’t let your happiness be determined by factors that you cannot influence. Internal happiness is only born when you become yourself. Even in this hectic world you need to find a place to calm down, to find back to yourself and listen to your inner voice.

Is the new pair of shoes really so important? Do you actually need that sort of car? What do you gain from comparing yourself with other people all the time? Isn’t your life already perfect the way it is? Isn’t there so much in your life to be grateful for? Why do you always want more; worry about the future; forget the present moment? Does having more finally make you happy?!

Or will you just want even more afterwards?

Happiness does not come from external stimulation: Happiness is generated from within you. You cannot influence the outside. You can only influence what is inside. Your own happiness is solely a matter of your own perception. It’s in your head. It’s not in external factors.

How to Find Happiness

Don’t let worrying about the future take away your chance to be happy in this very moment.

Don’t focus on the external world. Instead focus on your mind, your true self. Count your blessings – there will be so much for which you should be grateful! Treat yourself nicely and be your own best friend, not your worst enemy.

I think this quote by Robert M. Pirsig describes perfectly that zen and happiness can only be found within us: “The only Zen you can find on the tops of mountains is the Zen you bring up there.” It’s so true but sometimes it takes a lot of practise to live by it. Why You Have to Become You to Find Happiness

Every woman is beautiful; every woman is a goddess in her own unique way. Still, sometimes life as well as other people, their needs and demands make her feel like she is in the second place, and she needs to make a conscious effort to go back to the basics, to the root of what makes her special, what makes her HER. The secret of rediscovering yourself might seem like a vault-kept one, but the formula is truly quite simple, and we are here to remind you how to feel precious, love the skin that you inhabit, and fall in love with yourself once again.

No Comparison

As the first step on your journey of self-love, you should stop comparing yourself to others. We are all different, and that is what makes us unique. There is no need for you to try and live up to the impossible beauty standards, and embrace your freckles, your small or large breasts, your thighs that hug each other instead of standing wide apart. These things make you all the more precious.

You have a quirky sense of style and sometimes it may seem that no one gets it. Do not let society change you, wear whatever you want and stop obsessing over magazine pages and current trends.

Be the Best You

You have things you do not like about yourself. Join the club, we all have things we are not too crazy about, so make a list of the things you can change. If you are not very fond of your tummy, hit the gym! If you are not a fan of the gym, give yoga and meditation a go; this will not only soothe your mind and contribute to your mental and spiritual well-being, but will work wonders on your body and how good you feel physically.

Mother Nature Knows Best

The world can be an overwhelming place, full of stress, pollution, demands, deadlines, the works. This is exactly why it is essential to go back to nature and reconnect with it. By doing so, you are reconnecting with yourself, finding your core, your center.

Do not find the time, MAKE the time to escape the noise and problems you don’t need to be hearing and go Wild, if only for a day. Take long walks, go for a hike, test your limits and do not forget to stop and smell the flowers. Lift that head high and absorb the stunning beauty around you. Once you learn how to just let go, escape everything and just submerge yourself into your thoughts, clear your mind, and you will be able to appreciate the everyday things even in the busiest of times.

Treat Yo Self

This popular catch-phrase is true on so many levels. We work so hard to be the best at our jobs, the kindest to our family and friends, that we sometimes forget to pamper ourselves. In order to feel good in your skin, you have to be good to your skin. Turn your home into a spa for one day, surround yourself with scented candles, put on some soothing music, and draw a bath. Once you are done relaxing with a glass of wine in your bubbly tub, groom some more. In the spirit of returning to nature, turn to organic cosmetics and let natural shampoo, face cream and body lotion be the part of your beauty routine. That will do wonders in rejuvenating your tired hair and skin without the potentially harmful chemicals synthetic cosmetics contain. The organic way truly is the best way.

Healthy Food – Healthy Life

It is true that you are what you eat. In order to feel good in your skin, you need to feel good from within, and that starts with healthy nutrition. Forget about processed food, artificial sweeteners, bad carbs and takeout. Take the time to go out and pick out fresh produce, organic produce and make your own healthy and balanced meals. The only way you can truly know exactly what you are eating is if you make it yourself. In addition, cooking has been known to have a calming effect on people.

Be Kind

Pay attention to details – when you receive a gift from a friend, take 5 minutes out of your day and write an honest to goodness thank you card, expressing your gratitude, and your friends and family will love you all the more for it. Say a warm hello to your neighbor, let someone in front of you at the line in the supermarket. Smile at a random stranger on the street, we never know how much this simple act of kindness will mean to them. Then just wait and see what karma will do for you in return.

Time for some zen and happiness quotes that will sweeten the time until the weekend 🙂

1. “The moment one gives close attention to anything, even a blade of grass, it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself.” – Henry Miller

Let’s all pay more attention to what’s around us. Do you remember when you discovered the world as a kid and everyday was a new exciting adventure with new stuff to learn? Let’s never lose the ability to appreciate all the little details that shapes our world.

2. “Happiness is your nature. It is not wrong to desire it. What is wrong is seeking it outside when it is inside.” – Ramana Maharshi

Try to make yourself independent from external factors that you most of the times can’t even influence. It’s all in your head. That’s where your happiness is created and you are the creator of it!

3. “Drink your tea slowly and reverently, as if it is the axis on which the world earth revolves – slowly, evenly, without rushing toward the future; live the actual moment. Only this moment is life.” – Thich Nhat Hanh

How often have you lied down in bed at night thinking what you had actually done that day except work and rushing from place to another? Have you really lived in the moment at some point during the day? Like really BEING and EXPERIENCING the present? Try it!

4. “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” – Albert Einstein

Everything is a miracle. Just try to see the beauty in this world. Focus on it and the glass will be half full rather than half empty.

5. “The best way to capture moments is to pay attention. This is how we cultivate mindfulness. Mindfulness means being awake. It means knowing what you are doing.” ― Jon Kabat-Zinn

Don’t let life pass you by. You live now! Go out there and dare to live it! Be awake and live in the present 🙂
