There are quality organic shampoos out there, but why not go completely natural and try making your own shampoo? All you need is ¼ coconut milk, ¼ liquid Castile soap and 20 drops of essential oil of your choice, I personally am a huge fan of lavender, but you can go with peppermint, rosemary or orange. Pour the ingredients in an empty shampoo bottle and shake, shake, shake!
Bonus tip: since these are all natural ingredients, the bottle requires shaking before every use for them to homogenize again. This recipe has proven not only effective, but also very gentle on the scalp, so if you have a sensitive scalp, like I do, this is the perfect recipe for you.
Healthy from within
The importance of nurturing from within simply cannot be emphasized enough. You truly are what you eat, and believe it or not, your dietary habits reflect on your appearance – skin and hair included. According to WebMD, protein is important to strengthen hair and promote growth. Soy is a great source of protein as well as a great substitute for meat, so try to incorporate it into your nutrition. For those combating hair loss, it would be smart to include nuts, seeds, eggs, and fish in their diets. They are all important sources of omega-3 fatty acids, which help lower inflammation and create a healthier scalp. Drinking green tea is also bound to do wonders for your hair.
As beauty truly comes from within, vitamin intake is highly important and natural vitamins for hair are as important as proper nutrition. The role of vitamins, along with folic acid, is to nourish hair from within and enable its quicker growth. With a combination of regular vitamin intake and healthy eating habits, you will be safely on the express train to gorgeous hair.

Even the healthiest hair needs love, and that is why hair masks are to be called upon every so often. I thought of purchasing a natural clay mask, but then I went in search of DIY solutions, and found a great recipe on Wellness Mama, so I decided to give it a try.
I decided to go with bentonite clay as it is known as one of the strongest toxin absorbents among clays. It worked like magic; I don’t think I have ever felt such cleanliness before. Let it dry
One of the biggest favors you can do to your hair is save it from heat exposure as much as possible. Comb your hair, and after washing, treat the roots with natural and organic argan oil. The reason I find this oil amazing is because unlike other oils, it doesn’t make the hair greasy.
Simply rub the oil on your hair and work it onto the strands avoiding the roots, brush it and let it dry on its own. Avoid blow-dryers, hair curlers and straighteners. Heat is hair’s nemesis. As far as styling goes, there are amazing tutorials for gorgeous updos and heat-free waves, so why expose your hair to heat when you can achieve stunning styles without it.
